How to Create a Perfect Wedding Day Timeline

So you’re getting married! Congratulations!

It’s an exciting and crazy time, and there are so many things to think about and plan. One important thing to consider is the timeline for your wedding day. You want everything to flow smoothly and for everyone to know what’s happening when.

Here are some tips for organising your wedding day timeline:

1. Make a list of all the events that need to happen on your wedding day. This might include getting ready, taking photos, the ceremony, cocktail hour, dinner, dancing, and anything else you have planned.

2. Determine how long each event will take. For example, you might allow an hour for getting ready, 30 minutes for photos, and another hour for the ceremony.

3. Consider the location of each event. You don’t want to spend too much time travelling between events, so try to keep everything as close together as possible. Unless you have an EPIC location of course, we’ll make time for that!

4. Think about timing. It’s a good idea to set your ceremony time and work the rest out from there. For example, work backwards from ceremony time to organise timing for getting ready and travel or first look. Everything else falls into place when you’ve worked out your ceremony time.

5. Make a schedule for the day and share it with everyone involved. This might include your wedding party, your vendors, and any other key people. This will help everyone know what to expect and when.

6. Don’t be afraid to delegate. You don’t have to do everything yourself! Assign tasks to your wedding party or trusted friends and family members so you can focus on enjoying your special day.

7. Involve your vendors. Collaborating with your vendors – especially your photographer and wedding planner – is key to organising your wedding day timeline. They have a wealth of knowledge to share and are more than happy to help. Your photographer will be able to tell you the perfect time of day for wedding party portraits, or your caterer will be able to let you know what time guests should be fed (no one wants hangry guests!).

With a little bit of planning and organisation, your wedding day timeline will run smoothly and you’ll be able to relax and enjoy all the special moments.

Happy planning!
